Corporate Modelling Ltd Announces Generic Informix To C# Porting Software

6th February 2006

Why would a company which specialises in ”Enterprise Improvement” announce a software tool for porting from Informix, a leading database and applications environment, now owned by IBM?

Graham Twaddle, CEO and founder of Corporate Modelling Ltd explained:

Mapping and modelling an organisation's processes can be a huge ongoing task, and the reality is that existing IT systems cannot be replaced or remodelled immediately. Meanwhile, it is likely that there is a business imperative to reduce costs, particularly IT costs, even though systems are functioning adequately. This was the situation at one of our clients so together we embarked on a project to port the existing systems to a lower cost environment whilst starting a process modelling programme to cater for the current and emerging business requirement”.

Corporate Modelling went one stage further by enabling changes to the ported code to be undertaken by using its own 5th generation application and rules engine, Oban.

CTO, Stewart McSporran explained:

The Informix 4GL is ported to our engine, Oban, this can then be used to effect immediate priority changes and then we port to C#. Our experience showed that 100% of the logic can be automatically converted, 90+% of the SQL and 95% of the UI. C# applications are implemented in a .Net environment at significantly lower platform costs".

Corporate Modelling believes that the porting software will appeal to both Informix applications systems providers and to companies which have their own applications.

Corporate Modelling Ltd is a developer of software tools for “Enterprise Improvement which comprises process modelling/mapping, code generation from process models, process simulations and process improvement with an end to end Six sigma toolset.

Corporate Modelling is focussed on .Net and has developed the Business Process Grid to enable very large scale transaction processing of .Net applications.
